Our Story

We're Federico and Ingibjörg, a family living in Iceland, with deep roots in Sicily. After a life-changing move in 2015 from Palermo to Iceland, we’ve spent the past decade building a life together in the North, while never letting go of the warmth, flavors, and memories of the South.

We often return to Sicily with our children, to visit family, to reconnect with the land, and to pass on its stories. Over time, this rhythm between islands became a calling: to bring a little bit of Sicily here, to Iceland.

Our project is named “Iddu”, the Sicilian word for “him”, affectionately used for Stromboli, the volcano that watches over the Aeolian Islands. Sicily and Iceland are the two largest volcanic islands in Europe. Both shaped by fire. Both defined by beauty, nature, and character. Iddu is a tribute to that connection.

We also draw inspiration from Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth, a novel that begins in Iceland’s Snæfellsjökull and ends in Stromboli. Our story follows the same path, from Iceland to Sicily, bridging excellent products, lives, and cultures.
